Unlock POU Password S7-200 Smart Use Step7 MicroWIN Smart

 The same with S7-200, the control program for an S7-200 Smart CPU consists of the following types of Program Organizational Unit (POU): Main program, Subroutines, Interrupt routines. On this post, I guide you: How to set and unlock POU password S7-200 Smart use Step7 Micro/WIN Smart Software.

 To Set a POU password, please follow the steps:

 

• Step 1: Open the project with Step7 Micro/WIN Smart program. Click on a File tab > POU > Protection.
• Step 2: Tick on “Password Protect this block” box.
• Step 3: Type the characters to “Password” and “Verify” (These values are the same)
• Step 4: Click “OK”. And then close, save the project to apply the password.

Note:
If you tick on: “Password-protect All POUs using this password” box, the password will be effective to all POUs.

How to Unlock POU Password S7-200 Smart

Why do it

• You need to see code, edit the program…
• The program writes by you: Maybe forgot the password…
• The program writes by other people: You can not contact the programmer.
• We do not encourage it, if you can contact the programmer.

Step by step

• Step 1: Check Step7 MicroWIN Smart Version on your computer. This tool only supports the version V2.0 or V2.2.
• Step 2: Download the tool Unlock POU Passwords S7 200 SMART at the end of post.
• Step 3: Open the path: “C:\Program Files\Siemens\STEP 7-MicroWIN SMART”. Rename file “datamanagers.dll” to “datamanagers-backup.dll”
• Step 4: Extract the downloaded file. Coppy file “datamanagers V2.x.dll” to C:\Program Files\Siemens\STEP 7-MicroWIN SMART
• Step 5: Rename the file “datamanagers V2.x.dll” to “datamanagers.dll”
• Step 6: Open the project you need unlock POU password S7-200 Smart. Enjoy it!

Note:

• Close the Siemens Step7 MicroWIN Smart program before begin.
• On Windows OS x64 version, the path of “datamanagers.dll” file may be not the same above.
• The unlock project password for S7-200 SMART supported too. Contact us if you need it.
