The command library V1.1 creates two Standard-libraries in STEP 7-Micro/WIN: USS-Protokollbibliothek: The advanced USS Protokol library for direct control of SIEMENS Micromaster-Frequency convreter MM3, MM4 and SINAMICS. Communication with the drives takes place through the USS protocol which is integrated in the Micromasters as standard. At the same time, current status values are communicated from the drive to the controller. A PROFIBUS cable is all that is required to wire up the drives and the controller. This reduces the work involved in wiring the system, saves inputs and outputs and makes initial startup easier. MODBUS-Protokollbibliothek: The additional MODBUS-Protocol library simplifies the communication with MODBUS-Master devices through special communications instructions and interrupt routines, which are based specially on MODBUS-communication. With the MODBUS-Slave-protocol-command the S7-200 can act as MODBUS RTU-Slave in a corresponding MODBUS-Network and communicate with MODBUS-Masters.

Master Slave Communication via a CM PtP using the Modbus RTU Protocol

The example is set up in a way so that both, the RTU master program and also the RTU slave program are realized together in one S7-1500 CPU. Here, the Modbus RTU master communication module is the S7-1500 CM PtP RS422/485 HF, the Modbus RTU slaves have been realized with the CM PtP-communication modules of the ET 200SP. These Modbus RTU slaves in turn have been connected to the S7-1500 CPU via the ET 200 SP head module. The two program parts (Modbus master and Modbus slaves) are easy for you to separate and adjustable for your own applications.
